I am absolutely devastated after reading this. I met Liam on several occasions and always found him polite, intelligent and all round good fun. My last memory of him is of buying him a JD and coke at the Met Lounge in Peterborough after a gigood and chatting with him and Andy Smith.
So many good memories of Peterborough Beer Festival alsof where MA were the ‘house band’ for three years.
    Will miss you fella.

Liam was our friend. I had the pleasure of seeing him again after 13 years, with Bryan in March, and we never skipped a beat. So many memories…working at Fibbers together, him and Bryan propping up the bar in One Eyed Jacks and Judges Lodgings. Long drunken walks home singing Pink Floyd, bicycle shorts, busking, “So here it is Merry Christmas”, and One Stoned Snowman. Trips to Blakey Ridge, and lots and lots of laughter. We send our love to all friends and family who are heartbroken this weekend. We raised a glass in Liam’s memory last night. Until we meet again old friend!

We all check out. It’s a part of life. None of us know how long we’ll get. What’s important is that we cram as much as we can into the time we have and do as much as we can as we go on our way. I was lucky enough to speak to Liam at a number of MA gigs, as well as be spellbound by the music the band create and of which he was a big part of for a long time. Rest easy fella, you dun gud.

  55. My first MA gig a good few years back had Liam nailing the festive numbers. Tim kept pestering me to buy his solo album which I eventually did & wondered why I’d not taken his advice far earlier.

You could tell from the start that something wasn’t right last night, but fair play to the band for managing to still put on a quality show, & clearly a very poignant recital of Heroes Never Die. Very sad.

After losing our dear friend Jon Farrow earlier this year Rachel and i now are heartbroken again to learn that another Swan stalwart has passed. Liam worked for us for many years being one of the most popular and competent members of staff we had over the years. He was an integral part of the pubs success and hence we became very close friends over and above the workplace environment.
Rachel and I will always recognise his contribution to ourselves along with enthusiasm for mostly autumn and his love of music in general.
    Thank you Liam.
    RIP our friend
